After full windows shut down, it turns on when I hit a key. Yes I went to APM, and all of the turn on settings are set to disabled.

Is this an S5 thing?

Yes and no, it depends on how you want your computer to work for you.

Personally, I like to enable ErP Ready =Enable (S4+S5). When I shutdown my computer it shuts down completely (USB Ports, BIOS Flashback, CMOS reset, motherboard LEDs, etc). I only have to turn off items that use their own power supply (Monitors, speakers, external disc drive, etc).

Good explanation for S4 and S5.

However, if you do not want your computer to start-up using the keyboard you can try Windows (Software):

Control Panel/keyboard/Hardware/Properties/change settings/Power Management/ uncheck (Allow this device to wake the computer).

There are BIOS power options and Windows (Software) power options. Both BIOS and Windows (Software) power options have conflicts sometimes. When you figure it out let the forum know.

In addition, I do not own this motherboard, you will figure it out.

Energy Star Ready (again Power Management):

Thank you - this helped me 🙂

I didn't mention it was with a PS/2 keyboard.

I changed it to a USB and it doesn't come on
