Do I really need AI Suite 3?

It seems like a buggy software. I'm trying to increase fan speed, it stops it. I try to stop it, it makes it full speed.

What's the alternative? Do you guys using it? I just want to have fan profiles without bugs and problems.

i'd go into bios and adjust fan curve straight from there.
save and exit.
set and forget.
no siggy, saw stuff that made me sad.

The FanXpert program is buggy, but so is the BIOS and this program can reset the failing fan without a reboot. Speeding fans occurs any way with or without the AI Suite 3 installed.

For now I am testing fan problems by uninstalling AI Suite 3 and then stopping and Disabling the Service AsusFanControlService. Looks good so far......

Edit:
The temperature of MB and CPU just went down to -73 C. Aura LED-ramp displayed CPU-temperature and whent RED. Fans kept normal speed so MB was probably unaware of the bad temp-readings. Reboot after a few minutes the BIOS showed about 45 C.

Edit 2:
Problem back... 100% CPU Fan at 31 C.

AI Suite 3 reads BIOS info, so if the BIOS is faulty....

Uninstalling AI Suite to solve your prob, is equal to killing nurse who gave you a drug which doctor ordered.

If there is a program in Windows that tell the MB to change the fan speed, it might be via this Service AsusFanControlService.
I am happy to let MB take care of the fans without external influences (If it can...). 🙂

Edit:
Didn't work. Problems back.

Never used it.

I do custom curve for CPU_FAN within UEFI, CHA_FAN1 as Standard preset and CHA_FAN3 as Turbo preset. All are set as PWM, with 3.8S smoothing, 0 issues.
Intel Defector  AMD Rebel

I'm using AI Suite 3 and it's working as intended, no problems with Fan Xpert.

The AI Suite 3 is a nice program to achieve an easy overclock. It will not get you the highest overclock, but it will get you the quickest stable oc. So it's okay to use it. But if you want to oc to the highest you can get, then you have to do the work.
