Crosshair VIII Hero new build q code 00

I am building a pc for the first time. I have a crosshair VIII Hero and:

AMD Ryzen 3900x
2 16 GB Corsair compatible RAM
Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD 1 TB
PowerColor Red Dragon Radeon Rx 5700 8gb
Creative Sound Balster AE-9

I have power, the fans are working, the CPU fan is on, but no boot, no display, Q Code is 00.

I have updated the BIOS, cleared the CMOS, tried a new CPU, changed the RAM (wasn't compatible, but now is). ASUS support is now telling me that I need to send the motherboard back, which I am fine with doing, but I am afraid that the problem is my build and not the motherboard.

Suggestions?

Remove the SB till we have boot.

What cooler are you using or did you change the cpu backplate by chance. Overtightening of the CPU can cause non-boot and if you reverse the CPU backing plate (some come with their own and can be mounted backwards) can result in non-boot.

Qcode 00 means the CPU is not being detected.
