Please note that in order to have this BIOS update fix the sensor issues, you need to only use software which relies on our new interface. I'll try to compile a list of what's safe at a later time.

I'm looking into the issues with graphics cards only running at x8, got nothing concrete yet.

Just checked ASUS website for this new bios. They are recommending that the chipset driver 10.50.16 be installed before updating to this new bios. One problem, this chipset driver version is not available on their website or on the AMD website. Any ideas?

Not sure how you can draw that conclusion at all. People who post on forums are the ones with issues, yes... but people who don't have issues, don't usually go on forums to post about how great everything is running.

My Google feed brought me here. After reading all 12 pages, I've never had an issue when updating bios on my Asus Rog Crosshair hero 7.

Had it since day 1. Only 1 bios update reset my bios and I had to go back in and enable all of my settings.

Use Asus Q-Installer, it shows the requested 10.50.16

I don't want another piece of software on my system, Shame Asus simply don;t make 18.50.16 available as a standalone download.

So where do I find the Q installer? The only update SW I have available is easyupdate and it does not find the new BIOS or the chipset drivers.

Latest AMD chipset drivers are found here: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-X470-F-GAMING/HelpDesk_Download/

They aren't showing up on the Crosshair VII download page yet.

Never had an issue updating a bios in all my 18 years of dealing with pc's, well this new bios 2008 just bricked my pc, whether i try and get into the bios or just let the system boot all i get is a black screen with the red triangle american megatrends logo and that's it, no text on screen like there should be. have used the bios flashback feature a few times, clear cmos, no luck, still getting the americn megatrends screen with no bios text, it would appear my system is fubar!! The weird thing is it appears to be posting fine, I get the one beep from the speaker to indicate a successful post but I'm still getting the same screen anyway.

I've had my share of bois issues in regards to no screen output and seeming the pc was bricked but in actual fact it had post and was sitting at windows OR the bios screen with an error.

For the most part this goes away when i switch from my display port cable to HDMI cable or having them both plugged in.

When changing video drivers or flashing the bios the interaction with the basic display driver for the UEFI i presume is having some issues with certain combinations of display outputs and cables.

try switching between hdmi and display port, and plug both cables in and try booting with the monitor looking at different inputs.

Cheers for the reply, unfortunately using either hdmi or displayport resulted in the same blank screen apart from the american megatrends logo in he top left of the screen, I've finally sorted it though after searching some more on google I found a post on the rog forums about someone else on a different board having the same blank post screen apart from the logo in the top left and the fix for him was removing all the usb devices so i decided to test that leaving just the mouse and keyboard connected to usb and what do you know, the proper post screen made a return!!

Because the issue remained even after using the bios flashback feature to return to the bios I had been running I didn't even think it could be usb devices causing the issue but now I had it working I proceeded to reconnect the usb devices one by one, testing that the post screen & bios was working correctly after adding each device until I had them all connected again and the post and bios was still working correctly, I mean wtf!!! if it's working fine now with all usb devices connected then why did it start playing up after the bios update, I enjoy being a pc gamer but sometimes being a pc owner can be like living in the twlight zone when weird issues like this crop up.

I bit the bullet and updated the chipset drivers and the BIOS. It went fairly smooth. The one issue I saw so far is the BIOS update cleared my user profiles, not sure if that is normal.
