Please note that in order to have this BIOS update fix the sensor issues, you need to only use software which relies on our new interface. I'll try to compile a list of what's safe at a later time.

I'm looking into the issues with graphics cards only running at x8, got nothing concrete yet.

I bit the bullet and updated the chipset drivers and the BIOS. It went fairly smooth. The one issue I saw so far is the BIOS update cleared my user profiles, not sure if that is normal.

When I updated to 1201 it cleared my user profiles as well. I don't remember if going up to 1103 removed my profiles. I usually just have screens saved for when I do flash a new BIOS

how come amd's site doesn't have the latest chipset drivers?

Asus(Asmedia) makes the chipset, and the drivers, it's reasonable they provide the latest drivers first. Why AMD is behind is unknown but could be because they may have a longer validation period before deeming the driver stable enough for distribution.
R9 7950X - ASUS X670E Crosshair Extreme (bios 0803) - 32GB HyperX Fury Beast @6200c32 - Corsair H150i Pro - ASUS RTX3080 TUF OC V2 - Phanteks P400A - Corsair RM850 - WD SN850

Most likely the chipset driver that AMD provided ASUS for Ryzen 3xxx / Valhalla/AGESA0070

This bios is working well for me, much better than 1201 and 1300, both of which were conflicting with my Corsair devices. They also gave me mouse lag, but no more mouse lag in the latest! So at least some problems were solved.

Still don't have p-state overclocking, but maybe someday.

So I guess maybe update, but only after you've backed anything and everything up. This is at least one vote for these bios being safe and stable, though.

The ASUS website does have the latest AMD dirvers 18.50.16. When you go to the Crosshair VII Hero list it shows you 18.40.xx but has a "SHOW ALL" option just under it. Click on that and you will see the 18.50.xx drivers in the list.

It has 18.50.06 not 18.50.16.

Was added today after my post.

CH7 AU: Doesn't exist.
CH7 US: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-CROSSHAIR-VII-HERO/HelpDesk_Download/
-> No updated chipset driver.

CH7 Wifi AU: https://www.asus.com/au/Motherboards/ROG-CROSSHAIR-VII-HERO-WI-FI/HelpDesk_Download/
-> No updated chipset driver.
CH7 Wifi US: https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/ROG-CROSSHAIR-VII-HERO-WI-FI/HelpDesk_Download/
-> Has the updated chipset driver.

I have the non wifi CH7, being from Australia asus.com always redirects to the au site unless I edit the links by inserting /us after asus.com. Which means if I didn't know better I would have no way of finding what I needed. Not to mention for my region site the CH7 doesn't even exist and the CH7 on the US site has no update yet.

Earlier in the thread it was suggested to grab chipset drivers from a different motherboard model because they had been updated. Considering the above sites ALL have the 2008 bios for download and the bios advises to download 18.50.16 chipset drivers can we you know... GET SOME CONSISTENCY across the asus websites.:mad:
