C6H Test BIOS 0020 with AGESA 1007 (405200c4e299c1eed9a0044edec9aba51f37cee1d70caabe40b9485b0604521a)

In order to get back to an older version after flashing, you have to use USB BIOS Flashback.

* Some tuning on DRAM settings, let us know how they work for you. tRDRD_Sc is still at 5 above 3500 MHz as it helps with stability. For performance you want to force this to 1. We'll consider changing this in future releases as the performance impact can be quite noticeable in certain applications.

An update on DRAM Boot Voltage, currently it should be 1.35V by default if the DRAM Voltage is changed. So if you're setting DRAM Voltage to above 1.35V, you might want to sync this setting. Additionally there might be scenarios where you will have better luck by syncing DRAM Boot Voltage to DRAM Voltage even at lower values.




AGESA 1006 RC4 official UEFI 1401

Just tested quickly 3600 memory and cold booting, seems good but you guys are going to have to help me test this before we have a judgement. Seems CPU temp reading from SIO now has -20*C offset for XFR enabled CPUs.

Test BIOS 0079

Test BIOS with new AGESA 1004a, with a couple of bugfixes. Up to 5% performance increases in specific applications. Also has P-state overclocking working with BCLK increase. If you want to keep C-states, make sure to set Advanced\AMD CBS\Zen Common Options\Global C-state Control = Enabled. There are two new settings under AMD CBS\UMC Common Options\DDR4 Common Options\ you might want to take a look at, Fail_CNT and ProcODT. Fail_CNT decides how many times to retry when DRAM training fails (F9 -> 0d), default is now 1. ProcODT can help improve your DRAM overclocking. There's a setting available also on previous BIOSes under AMD CBS\UMC Common Options\DRAM Memory Mapping named BankGroupSwap. If you have 2x Single-Rank modules you can try setting this to Disabled and you might see some performance boost in certain applications.

I also bought the Aorus X470 Gaming 7 and am very happy with it by comparison. Right out of the box with the F2 BIOS, I set the XMP prfile of my G.Skill F4 3600C15 RAM and it worked. It wasn't stable but after a slight voltage bump to 1.4v and setting the SoC voltage to 1.25v, it has been solid. Even after upgrading the BIOS to F4g, it was still just as simple to set my RAM to 3600MHz and have the system work and that BIOS contained an AGESA update as well. The BIOS is definitely not as in-depth as what the Crosshair VI Hero has, but my system runs at 3.8GHz on my 1700X and my RAM runs at 3600MHz.

The temp on my 1700X is about the same on the Aorus X470 Gaming 7 are about the same as they were on the Crosshair VI Hero on BIOS 6003 before the NVRAM on the board gave up. I am using an Arctic Freezer 360 on my CPU. The only time I have ever had any issues with it, it was due to the fan headers on the Crosshair VI Hero shutting off back during the earlier BIOS's.

I dont think the AIO has issue,because with stock cooler, temps are very very bad. with AIO aida64 runs for approx 20 mins before the temps top out and crash. while using stock it crashes like in less than 2 mins.
But i have to agree with you about the AIO breaking, the one which i am using is fresh piece which i got from RMA

what you mean, if that worked. With stock setting and with stock cooler ,idle is btw 40-55, max boost on i get while gaming( rainbow six siege) is 3925/3950 max nothing above that

The drivers page may look down if you do ad-blocking. Asus's website scripts fail if their telemetry tracking at yahoo or whatever doesn't work.

Just wondering will 6101 allow 1800X with the Crosshair VI be able to boot ram stable @ 3600 ?
Havn't had the time last few weeks to test the Beta 6101 bios :S

Providing that IMC in your 1800x is capable of RAM@3600, since not all CPUs are made equal, there are small variations with IMC much like with CPU OC capability. AMD improved IMC in 2700x so chances with it for RAM@3600 are much higher then with 1800x or 1st ryzen series at general... Of course, in both cases, RAM itself must be capable of doing so. Motherboard is capable, although not officially...

I'm sure that applies in some cases and I used to think that about my CPU because the only time I ever got 3600MHz on my RAM was with 9945. The closest I got to that after was 3560MHz on either 1602 or 1701. When I picked up my a Gigabyte Aorus X470 Gaming 7 WiFi though, it was as simple as setting the XMP of my RAM and tweaking the RAM voltage up to 1.4v along with the SoC and a couple of other settings to get it stable on the F2 BIOS the board came with. When upgrading the BIOS to F4g, which contains the latest AGESA code, I thought it was more than likely not going work because of my experience with the Crosshair VI Hero so I flashed the second BIOS to F4g. The same settings manually set and yet again, I have my 1700X running at 3.8GHz and my G.Skill F4-3600C15 running at its XMP settings stable.

I don't know why it is such a chore and usually not stable on Asus's former flagship but Gigabyte have made reaching 3600MHz for my RAM, which is not Ryzen, Asus, or Gigabyte QVL, but it works and it was a hell of a lot easier to reach than the days of frustration with my Crosshair VI with each BIOS update to even come close.
