C6H Test BIOS 0020 with AGESA 1007 (405200c4e299c1eed9a0044edec9aba51f37cee1d70caabe40b9485b0604521a)

In order to get back to an older version after flashing, you have to use USB BIOS Flashback.

Let me know how it works for you, especially regarding cold boot issues. Any confirmed bugs in the bug report form please

Beta BIOS 1501

* Workaround for some CPUs stuck at 22x ratio if using override voltage
* Fixes PCIEX4 bandwidth setting getting lost after power is removed
* Same DRAM boot behavior as 1403 (no cold boot fix)
* Same DRAM profiles as in 9920
* Still has the Vcore value issue when booting with Offset Mode and switching to Manual Mode

Crosshair VI Hero 1501 SHA256 EDE223DC6897B7199C93D9985E28B7A2CD1B8A8DB2DCBF3D3555A521DB4F045D

UEFI build 9920 for the C6H:

* Improved DRAM cold boot, results in slightly longer POST time
* Fix for CPU Ratio stuck at 22x on some CPUs when using Vcore override/offset
* SenseMi Skew is now Disabled by default. If you want to return to previous behavior set SenseMi Skew = Enabled and Offset = 272.
* Added DRAM profiles for Samsung B-based DIMMs with tuned subtimings, including The Stilt's settings

C6H beta UEFI 1403

* Fixed W_PUMP and AIO_PUMP speeds during POST
* Fixed Fan tuning sometimes failing
* Fixed a few issues with AMD USB3.1 ports
* Some tuning on DRAM settings, let us know how they work for you. tRDRD_Sc is still at 5 above 3500 MHz as it helps with stability. For performance you want to force this to 1. We'll consider changing this in future releases as the performance impact can be quite noticeable in certain applications.

An update on DRAM Boot Voltage, currently it should be 1.35V by default if the DRAM Voltage is changed. So if you're setting DRAM Voltage to above 1.35V, you might want to sync this setting. Additionally there might be scenarios where you will have better luck by syncing DRAM Boot Voltage to DRAM Voltage even at lower values.

AGESA 1006 RC4 official UEFI 1401

Just tested quickly 3600 memory and cold booting, seems good but you guys are going to have to help me test this before we have a judgement. Seems CPU temp reading from SIO now has -20*C offset for XFR enabled CPUs.

UEFI build 1107

Older test builds:

Test BIOS 0079

Test BIOS with new AGESA 1004a, with a couple of bugfixes. Up to 5% performance increases in specific applications. Also has P-state overclocking working with BCLK increase. If you want to keep C-states, make sure to set Advanced\AMD CBS\Zen Common Options\Global C-state Control = Enabled. There are two new settings under AMD CBS\UMC Common Options\DDR4 Common Options\ you might want to take a look at, Fail_CNT and ProcODT. Fail_CNT decides how many times to retry when DRAM training fails (F9 -> 0d), default is now 1. ProcODT can help improve your DRAM overclocking. There's a setting available also on previous BIOSes under AMD CBS\UMC Common Options\DRAM Memory Mapping named BankGroupSwap. If you have 2x Single-Rank modules you can try setting this to Disabled and you might see some performance boost in certain applications.

Test BIOS 0081

Same as 0079 but has ProcODT default = 53.3 ohm

Test BIOS 0082

Same as 0081 but with a DRAM compability patch for the below part numbers

I'm going back to 0902 from 1002

When I was at 0902 I was able to run my 1700x stable at 3.95 ghz at 3.9 volts and my Gskill trident Z 3200 ram at 2666 and had temps from 42 C at idle and 73 C at full load.

But now after updating to the 1002 bios, I can't go abobe 3.9 ghz on the processor and 2400 at the ram, and now I my temps wont go down from 60 C idle and 86 C on full load, and I no longer can get to 2666 ram because if I try it won't go further than a q8 error code even if I go to 1.4 volts.

So later on the day, I'll go back to the old 0902 bios, until a further bios comes from ASUS.

i have had luck with bios version 1002....how ever when i first tried 1002 it did not do my system any good so i flashed back to 1001....
BUT.....when they posted 1002 officially on the asus board support page i tried it again ....and yes this time it has been working flawlessly
i do not know what changes were made from beta to official....but man this thing is rocking now.....
it might help you get lower ram voltage ...it might not man......
try it! what's the worst that could happen?....

you know what sucks, I flashed 1002 and have never been able to get back to 3200 stable memory speed 🙂 I even flashed back 5704 but no luck. oh well hopefully hte next micro-code update helps.

Those of you that can't cold boot, you might try increasing the DRAM Boot voltage (last setting in Digi+ menu). Some people have to set that up to 1.4v so they can cold boot every time.

if you're getting 3200 stable it's important to note if you're running rank 1 or rank 2 ram and how many banks you have filled. Success with rank 1 is a totally different ballgame than success with rank 2 ram. As is whether you get 1 bank working at 3200 vs all 4.

I'm using 1002, not overclocked currently. Still getting reboots every so many hours in linux 4.11-rc5. I even didn't compile in cpufreq with this kernel and still, reboots. I'm using an RX480 too, which hates dpms it seems. So i'm unsure if my reboots are caused by immature gpu driver or if there's some other issue with the motherboard/ryzen that still needs to be resolved. I'll go digging in the logs and see if anything got captured before the reboots after work. Windows is behaving much better after force-replacing the microsoft USB 3 and 3.1 AMD drivers with drivers from the latest available crimson pkg. So at least there's that.

New beta BIOS 1101

Still AGESA 1002. A couple of bugfixes, most importantly has the safe mode offset voltage fixed (not staying at previous value any more).

New test BIOS 0079

Test BIOS with new AGESA 1004. Up to 5% performance increases in specific applications. Also has P-state overclocking working with BCLK increase. If you want to keep C-states, make sure to set Advanced\AMD CBS\Zen Common Options\Global C-state Control = Enabled. newer beta bios's. Kinda funny that this stuff isn't posted in their own forums for us to test since we're all beta testers apparently.

Yeah why isn't this here

Yo Raja -- you should do one of two things...

Either:
Delete all of the replies to this thread.
Or:
Rename this thread back to what it was and start a new thread.

Having to wade through 16 pages of completely irrelevant posts about previous BIOS versions is stupid.

with this i do agree!!! lol... if this is a new beta/test bios lets have a single thread on it so reporting the findings and problems and workarounds for particular issues are separated from the rest of the bio's versions
so to my question this bios is newer then the 1002 i am now using? right? and that's what starts the confusion ...lol...right after the comment about this 0083 people are talking about bios 1001....

ima update with 079 and see what happens here...lol...i guess it all looks like new bios ....what is the cpu odt at normally and how does odt at 53 or whatever ohms affect the system?

0079 booted with two sticks tried docp 3000 mhz no go .....have not tried any tuning yet i will proceed with tuning on 0079 after i try to boot dcop with the rest of these...
and my ram is btw...tdrgd416g3000hc16cdc01

thats weird i can boot 0081 with both sticks and it auto boots 2180 mhz ram.
when setting to docp ...lol...to 3000 failing it boots into windows at 2180 mhz also
but at least it boots with both sticks..moving on to 83

i can not boot on bios 0082 with two sticks of my ram in ....i had to take b2 out and boot with one stick....
if i try to boot with two sticks i get nothing but a no light, number 8 on the qcode and i can not get it past that ...
one stick booting fine but still won't do 3000 mhz...going to try 0081...and 83...although i really don't want to be stuck in cr2.,.lol..but i shall give them a run and see what they do
well 0082 must have had a bad install the first time ....i went back and reflashed with it and now it boots fine with two sticks
so i will work with this bios and see what i can do with it ...
still no docp at 3000 working ....failing to pass checks it boots to 2133....
i wuz hoping some of those other ram sets would have some kind of compatibility with mine...lol
i'll see what i can do oc`in
as im trying to get the 2885 i had in 1002 working on 0082 i set my settings and go to boot only to have it fail...and ram is set at 2308 in windows ....how strange of this to do this like this...lol..o well...still tweaking.....
i easily got 2885 to boot on bios 0082 but i did have to set the processorODT to 120 ohms ....booted right up.....seems to be liking lower voltage with odt at 120ohms...still tweaking so ill see how high i can get

0083 also boots both sticks and will not do 3000 docp.....
boots 2133 on a faild docp try..
so i'm going to go back to 82 and try upping the ram threw bclk again....

63812
bios 0082 is kicking man ...i easily almost too easily got 2922 working ...im still tweaking voltages so i will get things a little better in the l2 scores ...but i am liking what i'm seeing so far
https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/2468174

ok man .....after some tuff battles with bios and not being able to get into it at all.....this is not like 1002 as far as being able to get into bios...lol...after a reset and some voltage changes here i am ...sitting with ram that is not on the qvl sheet ....at 3000 mhz its rated xmp clock speed
63814
this bios is getting better
you guys are doing something right .......to elmor and the guys behind the scenes thanks for all the effort into making this the board it should be!!!! this is cool as ever..lol....3000 mhZ RAM!!! WASSHOOOOOOO!!!......
https://browser.geekbench.com/v4/cpu/2468955
lol...i feel like a great mile stone has been hit ..lmao...im just tickled as ever over 3000 mhz ram....lol...

and still tweaking voltages and settings a bit this is where i'm at now ....
63819
this are looking better but!
where did that lower latency i wuz gettin go? is it because im using a odt of 120 ohms?..im still testing voltages to see if i can find it
and that l2 and l3 copy seem to have flipped a little ...what i lost on l2 seems to have shown up on l3 copy...lol....
i can definitely live with it ...lol..i have not noticed any bugs yet .....things seem a bit smoother with this bios..
i still have to use a crazy amount of pll voltage the system will not boot or shut off right before windows lock screen loads up if pll is not at 1.98...in windows aida64 says it is 2.027/.049 is this normal to be so high?

here is a new geek ...pll at 1.97 still high i think..soc 0.9560 volts...awesome!!...ram 1.3 in bios /boot 1.42/ in windows llc 1.352/.373
cpu 1.4250 in bios...1.482 in windows ...all checked in aida64 newest beta...
