Crosshair 7 vddp voltage

Leuts
Level 7
Fighting with major memory instability, I resorted to looking at old screenshots of hwinfo and comparing voltages from ~6 months ago when my system was rock solid, to now, when its barely able to run xmp settings.

VDDP used to be .98v

on auto, it was reading .7v

Now its.8, i set it to 1v in the bios.

I never changed this in the past. Why has this been defaulted to such a low value? Why is there such a big discrepancy between my set value and what I'm seeing in HWINO64? Do any other settings in the bios result in changes to VDDP?

AFAIK VDDP default is 900mV. The C7H does not show this a "monitorable" voltage in UEFI or HWINFO, did you get this information from Ai Suite?

Hi gupsterg

I'm sure when Ryzen first came out I read somewhere about 2 VDDP voltages.

In AISuite (like TurboCore) TPU you can change VDDP from it's default of 0.9v. There is a readout for VDDP, but it always shows a voltage of around 0.5v. This voltage does change a bit under load like other voltages, but it's defiantly NOT the VDDP in the Tweakers Paradise.

Can you shed any light on this?

Disregard it. I have seen HWINFO show a label of VDDP on x version with x UEFI on C7H, it was incorrect and as stated by Mumak in linked post VIN5 also is not something we should reference on C7H.

What Ai Suite/Turbo V reads VDDP as set value is correct. For example load UEFI defaults, so say VDDP is [Auto] and you'll see it as being 0.900V, that is correct. When you change VDDP in UEFI you'll see Ai Suite/Turbo V read back is as that set value as well.

VDDP is voltage to PCI-E Phy, source of info link, default is 0.9V. C6H had Probeit point for measuring it and SW monitoring showed it correctly, on C7H it isn't correctly shown in SW monitoring, link and there is no Probeit for it.

CLDO_VDDP is DD4 Phy, source of info link, in this post is info on default is 950mV.

Thanks gupsterg.

The other voltage labeled VDDP in AISuite is also displayed in HWInfo as VIN5 - for me anyway....

I get that, it's just strange that HWInfo and AISuite show the same voltage for VIN5 and VDDP respectively - it'looks like it's something, but god knows what.

I just checked on SiV and it shows VIN5 = 1.199v????

I assume that AISuite is showing VIN5, but what the hell is SiV showing???

Thanks for your prompt reply - not getting anything from Silent Scone - have messaged him and Raj - god knows why thy chose him - he seems much more interested in Intel platforms.

Dunno why HWInfo/Ai Suite show the same and SIV something differing.

NP on replies, etc 🙂 .
