Can't get line-in and mic input together

Hello, I'm on b550-a gaming motherboard, windows 11.

I have an audio source A that I want to plug in to my PC with line-in and listen to it with my headphones. I also want to use a microphone B, at the same time.

They both fall under the "Recording" settings in the Audio options. Setting A as default recording device works and I can set it to play in my headphones. However, this makes microphone B unusable (no input detected from it). If I want to use microphone B, I must set it as the default device. Doing so causes the same problem to device A.

Is there a way to have them both working?

Installing Realtek audio drivers from the support page of the motherboard solved my problem! So it seems like microsoft default audio driver does not allow this particular usage. Hope this can be useful to someone 🙂
