Just updated my ROG Crosshair VIII Hero to the latest BIOS 4805 (posted today) and now my AURA LED on the motherboard won't completely turn off. Even if I have them set to completely off in the BIOS there's still a green glow to the "HERO" lettering. This was working fine before the BIOS update, I even tried reflashing the BIOS but the issue persists.

Sorry to revive an old thread but how do you go about rolling back to previous Bios ver.? Do I just update it the way I would when installing new Bios?

Use USB Flashback. Download the file from the support site and insert FAT32 formatted pen drive into the designated port on the rear IO. Use the rename tool to ensure the file is named correctly.

This is my reply for your info
As the issue is related to the Aura firmware the fix will roll out with the next BIOS schedule in August. Appreciate this is a bit of a wait, so would recommend rolling back to 4702 for the time being if it's an irritation.
I Just asked if there will be also another bios fix, since currently I cannot use my mouse in bios.

I don't think that's related and I don't have any information for you on that. Perhaps start a support thread in ROG Care if you haven't already.

My Z790-E did this after a BIOS update as well, and after a lot of trial and error, I finally figured out how to get around this stupid problem. You need to turn on Stealth Mode for both states and set the ErP state to S4+S5, and when you first power it up all LEDs will be off, just go into AuraSync and turn the RGB lighting back on manually, and from then on the lighting will always come on when you power up the PC but the logo will stay off when shut down.
