Aura LED won't turn off after BIOS update

Gelial

Just updated my ROG Crosshair VIII Hero to the latest BIOS 4805 (posted today) and now my AURA LED on the motherboard won't completely turn off. Even if I have them set to completely off in the BIOS there's still a green glow to the "HERO" lettering. This was working fine before the BIOS update, I even tried reflashing the BIOS but the issue persists.

@Nate152 Now that we have confirmation this was a known bug that was ignored during beta testing, is a fix to be expected?

****** this forum is dumb.  If you click 'quote' to make a quote, it quotes the person you're replying to, overwriting the text you had selected.  And the goddamn captcha EVERY SINGLE POST which times out in 30 seconds.

Edited.  Ugh.

I don't mean to sound rude, but I can't help the way people interpret my words.

Ok, with DAOWAce's reply, there may be an issue with the lighting with the new bios.

Apparently, you don't have Armoury Crate installed to use the shutdown effect. So I'll ask, do you have any other ROG peripherals?  It might be worthwhile to install Armoury Crate for periodic updates, plus you'll have full control over the RGB and shutdown effect.

I don't want to sound like I'm forcing you to install it, but it is a good program and is easy to use. If you don't want to install it, use the ErP setting for now.

I'll forward this thread to the tech team for investigation.

I don't use any other ROG peripherals. All my peripherals are RAZER, and I use RAZER Synapse. I appreciate you recommend Armoury Crate, but I don't want to install more software just to control RGB on my board, especially if the BIOS should handle it without me having to install extra stuff.

I appreciate that you'll forward this to the technical team, I would like this fixed, and it's clear I'm not the only one with the issue.

If you didn't have Razer Synapse installed, I would recommend installing Armoury Crate. But since you do, there's a good chance they would conflict with each other, so I understand why you don't want to install Armoury Crate.

I already got a reply that they received your thread, if they can replicate the issue, expect an update in the near future.

FWIW, I'm the "reelmccoy" on overclock.net. I went from 4702 to 4803, saw the LED firmware was updated and noted the same issue as the OP. I did mention it to the individual that graciously let me test 4803 (thanks!). Even w/o Stealth enabled, the LEDs affected stay green so the default rainbow effect isn't the same as it was in 4702 and it affects software like SignalRGB where those LEDs do not shift to expected colors. I provided a picture and video as examples. Dropping back to 4702 will resolve the issue (LED firmware is updated when dropping back).
If there's anything to try, I'm game. For now, I just have SignalRGB keep to green color effects since those LEDs are always green. lol

I can confirm the RGB bug with 4805 bios, "HERO" light is stuck green.

Rolled back to 4702 and it's fine now.

Well, as I say, if they can replicate the issue, I would think they would address it.

It's out of my hands now, but to help get the ball rolling along a little quicker, if anyone has Armoury Crate installed (or wants to install it) to record a log and email it to me, that would be great. You can uninstall Armoury Crate after you send me the log.

You'll want to start recording the log then reboot your pc, the log will continue recording. Once rebooted stop the log and save it to your Documents.

If anyone wants to send me a log, let me know and we'll go private message.

Waiting months for an official LogoFail update for these boards, and an update comes out without it being patched?

Was this left out of the patch notes or is a fix still truly not included?
