ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI – irreparable defect & CID despite first-time failure

Hello ASUS Community,

On September 17, 2025, I installed a brand-new ASUS TUF GAMING B650-PLUS WIFI motherboard, purchased in sealed original packaging. Immediately after installation, Bluetooth and WiFi were not detected in Windows Device Manager. These functions were never available from the first boot.

As a certified IT technician with years of experience, I always follow strict ESD protocols: anti-static gloves, wrist strap, grounded surface, and careful handling. The board was installed correctly and only used for a few days.

ASUS support diagnosed the board as irreparably damaged and classified it as “Customer Induced Damage” (CID). I respectfully disagree with this assessment, as the defect was present from the beginning and no mishandling occurred.

The board was sent to ASUS's service center in Ostrava, Czech Republic, and was delivered on September 30, 2025 at 09:15, according to DHL Express tracking.
By October 1 at 12:50, I had already received a final diagnosis and CID classification,  less than 28 hours after delivery.
This unusually fast turnaround raises concerns about the depth and thoroughness of the inspection.

ASUS provided two photos with red arrows pointing to alleged damage. However, the images are unclear and do not show any visible signs of mishandling or physical defects. As a certified technician, I reviewed them carefully and found no evidence that would justify a CID classification.

I kindly ask ASUS to reconsider the case based on:

  • The lack of visible damage
  • The immediate failure from first use
  • The unusually rapid diagnosis timeline
  • The growing number of similar reports from other users

Many users have reported recurring issues with this model — Bluetooth not working, WiFi drivers failing, BIOS instability, EXPO errors, and POST failures. I believe this may indicate a broader issue affecting this product line.
