Asus Strix X470-F Gaming owners thread

Hello guys, I am starting this thread for all Stix X470-F owners to discuss their overclock settings, issues etc. So that everyone get help quickly in a organised way. Installed my old 1600x in this mobo with 4011 bios and flareX 3200 with default docp and it works just fine without any issues so far. One thing to mention The board pushes 1.15v soc default docp profile. Is it normal seems a bit high for me as I have upgraded from B350-F gaming.
However a small issue I believe, the asus lighting control is not behaving normal. I mean just after login to windows it is taking a bit time to start (5min) before that if I try to on Lighting Control by clicking it, program crash window appears after few seconds. But when it starts on it's own then I can open asus lighting control. Anyone experiencing similar issue???
Also tried to use older version.

oh okay does that fix the black screen/no taskbar/no search/no start button thing? I saw a lot of people had that problem but no solution from MS. I'll try 2004 and see how it goes.

Cant say, never had the problem on 1909 or 2004 with my x570 Strix-E.
Just make a backup and give 2004 a try.

yep will now do so thanks....I also uninstalled my AVAST since some thought that could be the problem as well as my "windows gadgets"

Is there any known info about new AGESA BIOS update for this board?

Also, if I upgrade my 1800x with a new 3800XT, can I run it without new BIOS?

I see on reddit C6H x370 boards got new BIOS, and this site https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/ROG-STRIX-X470-F-GAMING/HelpDesk_BIOS/ was inaccesible for some time, but nothing yet

Hey I just purchased a 2x16 GB pair of dual channel memory (32 GB total, DDR4-2666, Crucial) to upgrade from my 2x8 GB (16 GB Kingston DDR4-2666 memory), and now I'm wondering since the capacity of memory for this board is 64 GB, should I get another pair of 2x16 GB to fill out the board, or how else do I get 64 GB memory on this board and will it work well? (Will 2x32 GB work, or two sets of 2x16 GB dual channel, or 4x16 GB quad channel work?-- Will any of these combos work on this board or is it not recommended at all to have 64 GB of memory on this mobo no matter which BIOS is used?)

Hi all,

I have a problem with my X470-f gaming. I updated the bios to 5406 and after the restart it would not post and the white LED is on indicating VGA issue. Monitor keeps staying in standby mode. I tried different gpu slot, different graphics card, HDMI and display port cables. Nothing worked. I did CMOS reset too and it did not help.

I contacted Asus support and got a RMA number and they want me to send in the motherboard for repair. However, i was wondering, if anybody else had this problem and they were able to fix it before i send in the board.

Processor i use is 1700x and 5700xt graphics card with 16gb of ram, 750w psu.
