Asus Strix X470-F Gaming owners thread

Hello guys, I am starting this thread for all Stix X470-F owners to discuss their overclock settings, issues etc. So that everyone get help quickly in a organised way. Installed my old 1600x in this mobo with 4011 bios and flareX 3200 with default docp and it works just fine without any issues so far. One thing to mention The board pushes 1.15v soc default docp profile. Is it normal seems a bit high for me as I have upgraded from B350-F gaming.
However a small issue I believe, the asus lighting control is not behaving normal. I mean just after login to windows it is taking a bit time to start (5min) before that if I try to on Lighting Control by clicking it, program crash window appears after few seconds. But when it starts on it's own then I can open asus lighting control. Anyone experiencing similar issue???
Also tried to use older version.

Hi Guys, I think this is my first time posting here and for the most part that is because up until now this mobo has been working great for me, but the problem is my RAM clocks are no longer stable. I am the type of guy that does an annual to semi annual windows refresh along with adopting any new drivers that show up for my hardware, this includes updating my bios. The last BIOS I installed was 5220 and since then about a month ago this computer has been giving me all kinda of heck.

I use to stay on top of things but I really don't have the time any more. I understand that the bios updates have not effected the processor I am using for some time after reading a bit of this form, but I dont have time to read through the entire forum back to front. I am fully willing to spend a day fighting with my system rolling back to a previous bios if it means I can get though another year without having to touch any settings. At this point I am not trying to get any thing crazy out of my system just 4Ghz all core on a Ryzen 5 2600 with 3400 MHz on my G.Skill Hynix 16 Gb kit should be easy. Any help or links to posts that could help would be much appreciated.

Relevent Specs:

Trident Z RGB F4-3600C18D-16GTZRX

Seagate 2Tb
EVGA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER XC ULTRA GAMING
EVGA SuperNOVA 850 G+

if youre using 2nd gen cpu dont go over 4804, any bios after that you loose pe3 and 4, but from my experience, you can get better ram oc on the newer bios.

Ram OC? I know all ram past a certain clock is considered OC but mine was supposedly validated at release to be DOCP 3600 MHz CL18 on Ryzen+. Now I never bothered trying to get anything more than 3400 MHz out of it because of all the troubles people were saying high ram clocks caused like instability but now I can't keep anything over 3200 MHz on a 8x2 16GB kit. Considering I usually only update bios every year I was probably on 4204 or 4207 before I updated and started having problems, but if 4804 has better AGESA and feature implantation then that is where I will start. Thanks!

Hi everyone, I've released a Bios Mod for our motherboard. I don't use this forum every day so If you want to give feedback please do it in the mod thread. https://www.overclock.net/forum/11-amd-motherboards/1740924-asus-470-f-bios-mod.html

Would it be possible to get the default bios options + SSCdisabled saved into a bios profile such as SexySale85 did with the 5220 bios?

Does anyone have this bios file to send me?

Hi,

I am getting a Supreme-FX pop-up window asking me "Which device did you plug in?" (options are "Headphone" or "Front Speaker Out") at random times. , when there has been nothing plugged in or out.
This only started happening after I upgraded the HDDs from two 4TB WD Reds to a 6TB WD Blue and a 6TB Seagate Barracuda, and seems to happen when the drives spin up (although I am not sure of that). Otherwise, the system has been working fine for the last 18 months.
I have a CoolerMaster HAF XB EVO case, and had the front-panel wires properly connected to the MB.
To try and fix the problem, I disconnected the audio wires from the front panel (i.e. no longer plugged into the MB), but the problem still occurs.
Does anyone have any helpful thoughts?

Thanks!

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately, I am still getting these pop-ups after disabling depop.

If you`re out of ideas , try to disable sonic suite.

need help with windows and this board......it tries to keep making me "upgrade" to build 1909 and I dont want it...... it doesn't work for me, gives me a black desktop with no icons, no taskbar, no start button and no search....and reloading explorer.exe does nothing for me. Build 1809 works fine for me and I want to stay on that even though that is from the end of 2018....not going to "fix" something that isn't broke....how do I stop windows from trying to update to a new build....do I have to call microsoft and yell at them?!
