Asus Strix X470-F Gaming owners thread

Hello guys, I am starting this thread for all Stix X470-F owners to discuss their overclock settings, issues etc. So that everyone get help quickly in a organised way. Installed my old 1600x in this mobo with 4011 bios and flareX 3200 with default docp and it works just fine without any issues so far. One thing to mention The board pushes 1.15v soc default docp profile. Is it normal seems a bit high for me as I have upgraded from B350-F gaming.
However a small issue I believe, the asus lighting control is not behaving normal. I mean just after login to windows it is taking a bit time to start (5min) before that if I try to on Lighting Control by clicking it, program crash window appears after few seconds. But when it starts on it's own then I can open asus lighting control. Anyone experiencing similar issue???
Also tried to use older version.

Is anyone else having problems with shutting down their pcs? I've had this problem for a while where my pc will shut down to the point where even my peripherals turn off, but my pc stays powered(fans and LEDs keep running). When looking at the debug LEDs the dram LED(orange) is blinking. I'm running my ram on stock D.O.C.P settings and when I run a memtest for a reasonable period I don't get any errors. I've also never encountered any issue with the pc running. No crashes, freezes or any of the sort. I did update to the latest bios recently, but I seem to remember encountering this issue before that aswel. Today I all of a sudden had the same problem while booting up aswel, so it somehow seems to be getting worse?

I had random issues with shutdown or startup sequences with BIOS version 4804 but none with 5406,
which Just takes unexplained time ( 20 seconds ) to shutdown.

Does anyone with a Ryzen 3000 chip on 5406 have the same issue as me, with cores not properly going to sleep? This results in Ryzen Master showing the same average and peak voltage. I've done some searching and it seems an Asus issue on certain boards. I have a 3800X since a few weeks but as stated, the cores don't go to sleep under light load as they should so average voltage stays relatively high always.

Before trying to go back to an older BIOS I was hoping anyone here knows anything about this.

Sounds like a PSU problem.

I've been progressively having the same issue.

Mine will randomly turn off but not actually turn off. I can be using it or it can be idle. Only way to restart the system is to completely flip the PSU switch until the mobo LEDs turn off.

Its progressively getting more annoying cause it happened last night while playing a game.

I can't find any solution for as to why it happens as its so random. System isn't overheating, everything is ran within stock settings as well.

Hi guys,

I will receive soon a fresh new 3950x to replace my, not very old, 3900x (the latter replaced an 2700x)
I know that the upgrade is minimal but the price was good so I could not resist to the 3950x appeal...

Do you have any tips or recommendations to make this beast working at its best on an Asus Strix X470F Gaming ?
For example with overclocking (PBO, CCX overclocking,...).
My usage will be mainly gaming and x265 video encoding.

FYI, I am already using the latest available official bios 5406 with 2 or 3 months-old AMD chipset driver, on Windows 10 1909 November update.

Hi Guys
It's been a while since I've posted and having a strange issue
with my m.2 on our board and wandering if anyone has noticed this or some thoughts of how to fix it.
Specs
X470 f gaming bios 5220
Amd and Asus chipset driver installed
3600x currently at 4.3 gh oc'd at 1.29375v
G.skill Trident Z Royal Gold 2x8 cl16
running @3733 15 15 15 15 30 45
970 evo plus m.2 500gb samsung magician show all up to date.
2x pny 120gb sata ssd
Seagate 3tb spinner
Corsair h110i
Zotac 1070 ti
Corsair cx650m psu
Win 10 home all updates as of this morning.
All hardware updated regularly.

So the problem is when benchmarking i notice lower scores or results. Then I started looking around to see what the problem is and have ended up temporarily solving the issue by updating the microsoft storage spaces controller driver and retest and scores are way better.
The problem is it seems the updating doesn't stay.
At times I have to update that driver several times in the same day.
I have searched the web and in forums and not finding anything related.

This issue started while i was still on the 2600x
And have done a clean install since this started on the new Samsung 970 evo plus M.2 500gb which has over 390gb free.
So drive issue or Win 10 issue?

Have even tested on full cmos reset with defaults loaded
And ram at rated speed.

Any ideas or thoughts Appreciated
Thanks guys have a Great Weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Guys, I think this is my first time posting here and for the most part that is because up until now this mobo has been working great for me, but the problem is my RAM clocks are no longer stable. I am the type of guy that does an annual to semi annual windows refresh along with adopting any new drivers that show up for my hardware, this includes updating my bios. The last BIOS I installed was 5220 and since then about a month ago this computer has been giving me all kinda of heck.

I use to stay on top of things but I really don't have the time any more. I understand that the bios updates have not effected the processor I am using for some time after reading a bit of this form, but I dont have time to read through the entire forum back to front. I am fully willing to spend a day fighting with my system rolling back to a previous bios if it means I can get though another year without having to touch any settings. At this point I am not trying to get any thing crazy out of my system just 4Ghz all core on a Ryzen 5 2600 with 3400 MHz on my G.Skill Hynix 16 Gb kit should be easy. Any help or links to posts that could help would be much appreciated.
