Asus Strix X470-F Gaming owners thread

Hello guys, I am starting this thread for all Stix X470-F owners to discuss their overclock settings, issues etc. So that everyone get help quickly in a organised way. Installed my old 1600x in this mobo with 4011 bios and flareX 3200 with default docp and it works just fine without any issues so far. One thing to mention The board pushes 1.15v soc default docp profile. Is it normal seems a bit high for me as I have upgraded from B350-F gaming.
However a small issue I believe, the asus lighting control is not behaving normal. I mean just after login to windows it is taking a bit time to start (5min) before that if I try to on Lighting Control by clicking it, program crash window appears after few seconds. But when it starts on it's own then I can open asus lighting control. Anyone experiencing similar issue???
Also tried to use older version.

oh, I love tutorials that don't advise to backup certain things. looking at you, mister 1usmus!

did you find a DTS key sticker?

Edit:
MAC sticker is obvious
S/N: 14 out of 15 should be clear. 1 digit (the first) remains uncertain.
UUID: R.I.P. - unless you find somebody over at Taipeh with database access. your local Asus support can't help you.

nope, might be behind the mobo which i haven't checked. Im assuming you checked your backed up SN with the sticker, 1st 3digits/4 sound be like a model code i think , cause im sure the everything before the send dash - is not part of the SN?

sent you a PM

can someone here run the batch https://github.com/LongSoft/FD44Editor/issues/4
and compare it with the sticker on their boards.
basically the 1st digit should be the all the same, I need this 1st digit to remake my SN, because it didn't back up my SN, UUID, MAC before downgrading.

thanks in advance.

Is 1.0.0.4 the new chipset driver? Thats what I installed, and it says minimum idle 90% maximum 99% should I just leave that there or change those settings?

1.0.0.4B is the latest bios version(AGESA), it's in bios 5406 from Asus. It's needed for the latest chipset driver to work as intended by AMD.

Minimum/maximum works as is by default(90/99%), but I set minimum to 0% to get lower idle clocks and hence more silent fans. Also, it benefits boost as inactive cores doesn't generate as much heat, leaving more thermal headroom to the active ones. General performance takes a very small hit, but it's worth it for the silence.

Boost on Ryzen is mostly dependent on temps.

Screen/sleep settings always resets when installing new powerplans.
R9 7950X - ASUS X670E Crosshair Extreme (bios 0803) - 32GB HyperX Fury Beast @6200c32 - Corsair H150i Pro - ASUS RTX3080 TUF OC V2 - Phanteks P400A - Corsair RM850 - WD SN850

I see. I set my own custom fan profile in BIOS where my fans run at only 20% until the cpu gets to 70C so the fans are already pretty silent.... should I still set minimum to 0% (would that increase processor life or lower temps) or should I stay at 90%

Ok I just updated to the 5406 from the 5220.
System specs: 3700x, 32gb (2 sets of HX436C17PB3K2/16), 2070S, x470 F gaming, Win10 1909, latest AMD chipset drivers (1.11.22.0454)
- Everything works fine so far, cinebench scores (R15, R20) are almost the same+-
- Ram latency went down from 71ns to 70.1, timings and frequency are the same, I didn't have to change anything here as it works just as stable as it was before. 3600mhz, 17, 18, 18, 18, 39, 85, gear mode disabled, FCLK 1800, 1.35v.
- Boot time improved a lot! It was fine until 1.0.0.3 came out, finally they did the fix.

I'm having an issue after updating to 5406, sometimes my PC won't boot and the yellow qled stays on, I need to turn it off like 2 times and then it boots, any of you guys have experienced something like that?

1) Clear CMOS and then load optimized defaults in BIOS. If it doesn't help:
2) I wouldn't do this because I don't really see how it may help if the first step hasn't helped, and it might even brick your motherboard if something goes really wrong, but if you would like to check your luck - backup your UUID, MAC, S/N, make sure it really backed up your unique numbers (and anyway backup your current BIOS with flashrom just like the manual says just in case), then add them to uniqueless BIOS v5406 and flash what you get as a result with flashrom.
But personally, if the first step doesn't work, I would just apply to your local authorized service center.

@Sarronco:
Your specs?
Take the battery out and do a CMOS reset.
Did you change anything inside the BIOS? Did you try to load an older BIOS profile?
