Asus Strix X470-F Gaming owners thread

Hello guys, I am starting this thread for all Stix X470-F owners to discuss their overclock settings, issues etc. So that everyone get help quickly in a organised way. Installed my old 1600x in this mobo with 4011 bios and flareX 3200 with default docp and it works just fine without any issues so far. One thing to mention The board pushes 1.15v soc default docp profile. Is it normal seems a bit high for me as I have upgraded from B350-F gaming.
However a small issue I believe, the asus lighting control is not behaving normal. I mean just after login to windows it is taking a bit time to start (5min) before that if I try to on Lighting Control by clicking it, program crash window appears after few seconds. But when it starts on it's own then I can open asus lighting control. Anyone experiencing similar issue???
Also tried to use older version.

AMD Ryzen Master 2.1.0.1424 is out.

@Mr. Sunshine:
Loading my 5406 mod profile (works for Zen2 only!) via USB is way faster than flashing a mod BIOS.
Just tell me if it works. It's once again optimized defaults & SSC disabled.

@Schmak:
Check your Vsoc with hwinfo -> "SoC Voltage (SVI2 TFN)"; let's hope it's a reading error with RyzenMaster;
You might want to consider a bios reflash + cmos reset.

Were a lot of updates released today? I just got a notification for a StoreMI update and downloaded and installed it.

Has anyone tested 5406 with the ryzen 2000? And the changelog?

Chipset drivers were released on 25/11/2019 as well, for the 3950x release but we were told by AMD on Reddit to update the driver, not just 3000 series owners.

I downloaded the chipset drivers from here:

https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/x470

It asked me if I wanted to restart and I just selected close because I was making a video. Is that okay? My computer just shuts off automatically after 4 hours of inactivity. Will the drivers still install fine even if that happens?

Also, do I need to install any of the other stuff on that page, including the RAID stuff (I have two drives but not in a RAID array, I have an NVMe and a regular SATA3 HDD). And my StoreMI updated automatically so I take it I dont need to install that either? Thanks!

Anyone here flash the latest 5406 in their 2700x? cant tell if its the latest bios or the recent windows November update making idle higher, downside is it rarely downclocks and lower single core clocks, everything is auto except for ram and negative offset of 0.05v

I think that is a bug is Ryzen master. Ryzen shows VDDCRF SOC at 1.362 while HWinfo shows it at .0966 on average, idle at .0956 max at 1.487 though.

Reflashed BIOS and loaded your optimized default profile. Set Performance to Level 3 OC and my XMP profile, then set everything for 1usmus and disabled PBO.

No change. On full load single core or all core benchmark, my VSOC hits 1.081 max. so the VDDCR SOC in Ryzen master looks off as it stays at 1.362, no under volting done at all.

One good thing is I am seeing 4.5 Ghz on all CCD0 cores at some point, and 4.35 on the CCD1 which is my "bad" CCD. I wasn't seeing those boosts at all period, only around 4.3 on CCD0 and 4.2 on CCD1, and in gaming I am sitting steady at 4.4 in Jedi:Fallen Order, which is nice, using the trick you sent me. FYI I applied that to my Surface Book2 as well, HUGE difference in gaming performance on that 🙂

Has anyone ran into any problems on 1.0.0.4 bios for x470f?

I haven't, but I am on a 3900x, with 3200 Mhz C14 RAM, everything for that worked fine, but I have been having boost issues since before that, I am only hitting 4.550 max on idle workloads and 4.357 on single-core, working it through some folks on here, it's probably something with me and a setting.

I will say though my ALL core boosts are higher and more stable. Which is more important for my day to day.

There is also a new chipset driver so make sure you download that.

Running the same 3900x, and the 3200C14 as well, but I have mine at 3600c16. I downloaded the new driver from AMD, and installed 5404. I have to say more sustained frequencies are more crushed than before... I was holding 4.1-4.075Ghz, now I'm dropping to 4.025 and less. Temps don't seem any better for the wear either.

I tried to install the new chipset driver from AMD, and the PSP driver failed. Is there another place I should be getting the chipset driver?
