Asus Strix X470-F Gaming owners thread

Hello guys, I am starting this thread for all Stix X470-F owners to discuss their overclock settings, issues etc. So that everyone get help quickly in a organised way. Installed my old 1600x in this mobo with 4011 bios and flareX 3200 with default docp and it works just fine without any issues so far. One thing to mention The board pushes 1.15v soc default docp profile. Is it normal seems a bit high for me as I have upgraded from B350-F gaming.
However a small issue I believe, the asus lighting control is not behaving normal. I mean just after login to windows it is taking a bit time to start (5min) before that if I try to on Lighting Control by clicking it, program crash window appears after few seconds. But when it starts on it's own then I can open asus lighting control. Anyone experiencing similar issue???
Also tried to use older version.

wouldn't sticking to the best core only result in thermal throttling? I think that's the reason for switching cores.

Perhaps, but looking at 1usmus' charts, they were staying with the core for a while, a few seconds, before switching, and pegging out at top speeds before switching. Mine is still doing the criss-cross behavior and not hitting 4.6 on a single thread C15 benchmark. Thermals are fine too, not even hitting 62C.

so far... 5406 running fine here
slightly better CB20 scores
using the same RAM timings as with 5220

certain ryzen master values are still bugged
MEM VDDIO and MEM VTT -> 0
CLDO VDDG -> 1.14xx (Auto in BIOS), which can't quite be; So I manually set it to 0.955V

PBO disabled?
global c-states & cppc enabled

AMD calculated their rated boost clocks at 50°C.
Depending on the processor, maximum boost will go down with temperature:
- 3900/3950 - 75 MHz per 10°C
- 3800/3700 - 50 MHz per 10°C
- 3600/3500 - 35 MHz per 10°C

PBO is disabled and global C-states & cppc enabled, .05v undervolt.

Idle temps are 29-31. Single-core Cinebench temps are 60-61 pretty static

Its bouncing around A LOT so I think I have to have some setting missing somewhere...

Average frequency, and this reset right at the start of the CB session:

I would think I should see some plateaus before it drops back down or switches CPU

that profile is/was for 5220 (& zen2) only

@schmak: your SOC voltage is set to Auto?
edit: same results without CPU undervolt?

I was going to say I thought it was for 5220/Zen2 only....

Hopfully someone will mod the new one soon

My SOC voltage is set to auto. I reset everything back to optimized defaults, set up my XMP profile, the other 1usmus settings, PBO disabled not any real difference other than it is staying on core 6 and not switching as much, still peak speed was 4224 Mhz. Lower than all my previous tests, and worse single-core score.

Forgot I had the performance setting at auto still instead of level 2 or level 3 (OC), Set it to level 3 and I am back where ai was with boosts on single-core benchmarks to 4335//4341 and switching cores. Something still isn't right though feel like I am missing something configuration wise. This did hit 4650 according to HWinfo when I first installed the CPU and did a fresh windows install. I have reloaded windows a few more times since then and no dice getting back there, never saw it on single core CB though

Hello everyone

X470F got the new 1.0.0.4 ABBA bios update ready. Has anyone ran into any problems at all? Can you downgrade BIOS to 1.0.0.3 ABBA if this 1.0.0.4 ABBA bios is unstable?
