Asus Strix X470-F Gaming owners thread

Hello guys, I am starting this thread for all Stix X470-F owners to discuss their overclock settings, issues etc. So that everyone get help quickly in a organised way. Installed my old 1600x in this mobo with 4011 bios and flareX 3200 with default docp and it works just fine without any issues so far. One thing to mention The board pushes 1.15v soc default docp profile. Is it normal seems a bit high for me as I have upgraded from B350-F gaming.
However a small issue I believe, the asus lighting control is not behaving normal. I mean just after login to windows it is taking a bit time to start (5min) before that if I try to on Lighting Control by clicking it, program crash window appears after few seconds. But when it starts on it's own then I can open asus lighting control. Anyone experiencing similar issue???
Also tried to use older version.

Got an issue with X470-F Gaming. Updated the bios to 5220 and since than Aura keeps re-enabling itself. I turn it off in bios and save the settings. When i start the computer the next time i turn the computer off aura is on. It stays off when computer is running, but when computer is turned off aura is on. Stupid annoying crap. Does anybody know how to get rid of it?

Hi,

I am using this mb (ASUS STRIX X470-F) with Ryzen 2700X and 2x8GB G.SKILL CL16 Sniper X for AMD with D.O.C.P. enabled, which means 3400MHz. This configuration works flawlesly.

I would like to upgrade the memory - add second pair of the same RAM modules to have 4x8GB. The question is, will it work with D.O.C.P. on 3400MHz? Or should I expect to go down with frequency?

Does anyone have experience with it?

It wont work. The max you'll be able to get its 3200MHz with manual tuning

I'm not sure about that memory kit. But I'm using HX436C17PB3K2/16 with Ryzen 3700x. I bought second kit after like 7 months of using it and to my surpirse it's working as it should be, at 3600mhz, I didn't have to downclock anything at all. Don't forget to set FCLK to 1700 in your case to reduce memory latency.

I used trident z 3600 16gb 18-22-24-24 *docp with no prob added the exact same kit when ram prices are cheaper n had no errors on bios 5007 with 2700x. Only thing is you have to boot to windows on all auto then restart and enable docp. Ive ran it on 3200 fast as per dram calc with no problems.aside from memory training ie start with default then change ram profile after restart. The kits are hynix cjr which works with ryzen.now on 3900x and im running 3600 *16-16-19-19 @ 1.37 and still got no errors. I think u just gotta make sure what ur buying is the exact same chips or ull have problem.some manufacturers change chips thats when it gets tricky.anyway goodluck

Yes please!

Seeing this AM4 BIOS Collection thread makes me wonder, if asus should spend more money on BIOS devs instead of ROG marketing.:p

The new BIOS version won't bring you anything worth mentioning or waiting for.

Meanwhile try the new power plan: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/1usmus-power-plan-for-amd-ryzen-new-developments/
How to set up your BIOS and install the plan: https://www.techpowerup.com/review/1usmus-custom-power-plan-for-ryzen-3000-zen-2-processors/2.html
Windows version doesn't matter anymore according to the author, so don't hurry up replacing your v1809 LTSC with anything.
