Asus Strix X470-F Gaming owners thread

Hello guys, I am starting this thread for all Stix X470-F owners to discuss their overclock settings, issues etc. So that everyone get help quickly in a organised way. Installed my old 1600x in this mobo with 4011 bios and flareX 3200 with default docp and it works just fine without any issues so far. One thing to mention The board pushes 1.15v soc default docp profile. Is it normal seems a bit high for me as I have upgraded from B350-F gaming.
However a small issue I believe, the asus lighting control is not behaving normal. I mean just after login to windows it is taking a bit time to start (5min) before that if I try to on Lighting Control by clicking it, program crash window appears after few seconds. But when it starts on it's own then I can open asus lighting control. Anyone experiencing similar issue???
Also tried to use older version.

My comment too here on Overclock forum 😉 😄

Oh that's good ! Hope someone can provide us a custom bios soon. But question, can I install custom bios like normal bios ?

Second but small question: when you guys enable PBO, do you just enable it in only "Ai Tweaker" tab or both there and "Advanced" tab ?

Answers (from mine perspective):

1. In short: Yes
In long: This change of BIOS would be just SMU firmware part. Other parts of BIOS would be untouched.

2. I enable on both with same settings, but it looks like it's same.

Just updated from 5007 and so far so good. RAM seems stable at the same speed. However when loading my old settings from 5007 I noticed there are some weird settings changed:

RCD Parity [Auto]->[Disabled]
DRAM Address Command Parity Retry [Auto]->[Disabled]
Write CRC Enable [Auto]->[Disabled]
DRAM Write CRC Enable and Retry Limit [Auto]->[Disabled]

These settings does not exist from what I can tell. Nothing in the saved .txt. I don't know what these settings do but seems you have to input everything manually again if you don't want to disable these.

Latest bios finally seems to fix all the mouse lag I was having.

Did run into a issue with the USB ports not working after flashing but reflashing seems to have fixed it.

So, just got a 3700X, and updated to the ABB bios. Maybe I lost the silicon lottery, but:

1) Peak core at 4366. Others go lower. 199 single core CB15, 2080 multi.
2) High voltages. Ryzen balanced plan, but it goes ocnstantly from 0.98 to 1.495. Average for the last 3.5h (gaming session included) was at 1.36v. Seems high.
3) All core load clock sitting at ~3960. Current cooler: 212X. Could this be the issue? (I'm fairly certain that a 212X is better than the stock cooler)

Did I just get the worst 3700X ever? Could this be a BIOS problem? Cooler problem? Or is it working as it should?

Thanks!

Edit: memory is at 3600 16-15-15-32, 1.38v, apparently stable, and everything else is at stock settings. Tried messing with negative offset and PBO, no luck.

With 3960 at load you mean heavy load? or even gaming? because if it is heavy load, it is currently okay, if you enable pbo it could go to 4.1 at heavy load, for the rest it seems like just normal, PBO for me needs to be enabled on both settings to be really enabled, i dont know if it is a bug or what, but i found for a lot of stuff is better to have it disabled, i get the same performance but lower temps, just "lower" points on CB.

Yes, 3960 on CB15 All-Core load.

When benchmarking on CPU-Z Bench, the valid score show 4060 as the clock speed.

For example: I got 4217 on all cores (heavy load as CB) with PBO on my 3800X
