Asus Strix X470-F Gaming owners thread

Hello guys, I am starting this thread for all Stix X470-F owners to discuss their overclock settings, issues etc. So that everyone get help quickly in a organised way. Installed my old 1600x in this mobo with 4011 bios and flareX 3200 with default docp and it works just fine without any issues so far. One thing to mention The board pushes 1.15v soc default docp profile. Is it normal seems a bit high for me as I have upgraded from B350-F gaming.
However a small issue I believe, the asus lighting control is not behaving normal. I mean just after login to windows it is taking a bit time to start (5min) before that if I try to on Lighting Control by clicking it, program crash window appears after few seconds. But when it starts on it's own then I can open asus lighting control. Anyone experiencing similar issue???
Also tried to use older version.

Yes me!!!! This was what my first post in this thread was about, not just the temps, but also the crazy voltage jumps have shot up too. Like you my cinebench run would max temp out at around 65c, as soon as I flash any of the 4xxx bioses onto the MB my cinebench temps are now 80-85c. Funniest part about the whole thing is regardless of the huge leap in temperature, the cinebench score stil comes back exactly the same as it did with the 0225 bios.

That's a relief! I actually contacted support about this, and they said there were quite a few reports like that and that they were escalating this with HQ back in Taiwan. I'm wondering if they are working on it since the last bios release has been quite a while...

Did you try a negative Vcore offset to lessen the voltage spikes? I'm thinking about giving that a shot.

I had alot of freezing, and many things were changed in bios including negative voltage offset, so to troubleshoot I have reset bios back to stock (apart from docp memory) to try and reduce the freezing. So currently have nothing offset at the moment. I bought an X62 due to the ridiculous temperatures, keeps it below 70c at least now while being stressed.

have you made this video? i would be happy to view it

No man it is related to the black screen and multiple hw monitor issue. I will make it really soon. I will also include the fan speed spikes in 4xxx bios it's reason and how to solve it. Tried to explain in the same thread the the person seemed more confused after sharing.

I solved the fan issue by installing an AIO cooler 🙂 Still temp spikes, but temps are reduced by 10-25c now with my new cooler, so it makes no difference to noise. So much more relaxing like this. Still would like a fix though, this cpu is an absolute mess on this motherboard, its absolutely all over the place.

which cam version, do you have any black screens or reboots, while the cam is running

Latest of everything. I don't leave cam running, I unticked the option to start with windows, I only use it to select the RGB colour and pattern, then close it down.

I will share the details how to do it in a better way. wait until then.

You mean a way for people with stock fans I assume? Because my pump is just running all on auto have not changed anything, I assumed it's running 100% with fans, but they are 1000x quieter that the stock cooler that I literally cannot hear anything but the chassis fans which run at a constant non changing rpm.
