Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming Bios update?

Hi,

Does anybody knows when there will be a new bios for this motherboard Asus ROG Strix X570-E Gaming.
The latest one is dated 2019-07-05, an there is nothing about which AGESA its using.

Personally, I always save the BIOS update file unzipped to a HDD, boot into the BIOS, then use the EZ-Flash 3 utility to flash the new BIOS. Once it's flashed, your PC will reboot, perhaps power off/on a couple of times, and you should be brought to a screen stating that you need to enter your settings using the F1 key. Go into your BIOS settings and re-configure them from scratch.

If you're using Bitlocker drive encryption in Windows 10, make sure you head into the Windows control panel and SUSPEND Bitlocker before proceeding with a BIOS flash, or you'll be required to go through Bitlocker recovery in order to boot back into Windows. It's happened to me a couple of times because I simply forgot to suspend Bitlocker. Fortunately I backup my recovery keys in multiple places in the event that happens.

I do the same and I'm not using Bitlocker, but I was welcomed with INACCESSIBLE BOOT DEVICE (x570-E updated from version 1201 to version 1405). After 2 hours of debug I've started fresh.
I was curious if I'm doing something wrong...

Any idea if the new BIOS supports the new Zen 3 CPUs? Release notes do not mention anything about that.

Strange! According to the table posted in this link, ROG STRIX X570-E GAMING supports Zen 3 CPUs as early as with BIOS 2606 which is mid-August. I wonder how they could ensure such support two months before the official rollout of the CPUs.


Regarding the other question commented in the last few posts about popular methods for updating the BIOS, I personally prefer to write the BIOS file and only it on a flash drive (I mean, no other files on the flash drive besides the BIOS) and load it with the EZ Flash 3 tool for update.

New bios 2802 for x570-e is abselutly amazing so far right after bios flash new cinebench records overclocks far better, also boost to 4,6 ghz noticably now even reaches 4650 seems to run lot lower temps to while in idle, kind of worried tho this bios is not gonna be stable with linux kernel have to test it out hopefully its fine.

Finally, the CPU support list for our mobo has been updated to confirm the support for the new processors starting with BIOS 2606. 😄

Well, I should be ready then I suppose. I updated to 2802 as soon as it came out without a CPU installed (don't have a AM4 AMD around).

So now I'll just have to wait for the 5900X to be released which is the best price/performance CPU that is the most future proof for a reasonable price, or at least more reasonable than the 5950X in my opinion.

The new board looked pretty with the colors lighting up though, and yes I don't have any RGB at all yet. Well except on my EVGA 2080 XC Ultra card.
I am currently still rocking the 2600K with a Noctua NH-D14 on top in a HAF-X with 200mm Coolermaster Megaflow Red fans all around. Pretty old school maybe but it lasted a good decade with just a GPU upgrade from GTX480 to GTX970 to now RTX2080.

The only thing I wonder is how the thermals will be with the Noctua D14 on top of the 5900X. Hopefully reasonable or otherwise I might get a ROG watercooling solution.

Had a few instances of crashes with 2802 with FMax enhancer on....may have stabilized 2802 for now with no crashes recently but maybe this new BIOS is more stable from the get-go.
