Motherboard: Asus ROG Crosshair VIII Formula, latest Firmware bios.
LAN Connection: Intel on board LAN connection, I also did test the Marvel connection. Then plugged into an 2.5G Switch to Fritz-box 7590AX, newest Firmware Drivers on Router. Telekom Internet
Windows Defender, tested under Win10 22H2 and Win11 22H2. Tested with Win updates, fresh install without any Windows Updates. Firewall checked (all ok), With Win Firewall On/Off, Virus scanner On/ Off....
My problem is that the LAN connections drop while playing Online Games very often (Steam and also no Steam games). Sometimes after 5-10 minutes, sometimes after 1-2 hours.
What else did I do?:
Re-installed drivers, Windows 10 two times, Win 11 two times and also tried original Marvell and Intel LAN as well as WLAN. I did also switched the Ethernet switch and all TP cables (Cat8).
Energy saving on Ethernet Adapters and PC = OFF.
All the same problem, my games disconnect. When I work without load (no gaming or file transfers over my Ethernet) all is fine.
So: My conclusion is the Intel LAN Chip/ Adapter is just rubbish. There are plenty of post about it out on Google.
What ASUS ROG board comes without the Intel LAN Chip? I would consider giving Asus one more change and switch out the motherboard.
Otherwise I would have to switch brand.
Thanks for your ideas and help.
