Asus Crosshair VIII Hero + 3950x - CPU Over Temerature Error at 84c

Hello.

I got a 3950X + Asus Crosshair VIII Hero X570.

I got a golden CPU imo, it can do 4.3Ghz at 1.296 volt and 4.4Ghz at 1.316 volt, but as soon as it hit 84-86c the system shutdown and I get this error after.

83532

So Why does this happen at 84-86c only? Chipsæt on the mortherboard is no more than 61c and others under 60c.

Got the newste bios.

Thanks.

Software monitoring of temps is obviously giving some average over some time period...however short that is...the CPU is obviously using its own temp monitoring and they shut down immediately they see some spike somewhere...

Instability creeps in the higher you OC it's as simple as that. Just make sure your cooling is as efficient as possible

i got a custom water loop with 1x 360 60mm and 1x 460 40mm. push pull with 2x D5 pumps.

But i JUST got a new Corsair AM4 waterblock, I think i need to remount it to see if that fix it, the loop could fine handle the 7980 XE @ 4.8ghz no problems.

but overall so this is a board issuse with the shutdowns?

Will try to remount the waterblock tomrrow to see if the inlet and outlet is right.

I think is a board issue, a friend with the same mobo or even the X570 sTRIX, can the CPU run at 90c without it shutdown 😕

go to monitor in bios. ignore the cpu temperature monitor. your problem will be solved.
