AiO Header and CPU Fan headers shut down .

Chipz
Level 7
HI

So here i was minding my own buisness and i thought i heard a fan stop in the case.

After a quick look both the AIO cooler fans had stopped , these are set to 100% direct control in bios and connected to cpu fans 1 and alt.

Looked again and the light on the cpu pump had gone out as well . again plugged into aio header ditect control , 100%

Surely this should not be able to happen .

And this is not the first time its happened .

RMA ?

Well if it does it again - pulling the power + battery is the only way to reset the SIO that controls all the sensors apparently. Been a few days now constant uptime and still no issues for me since doing it.

Good to hear. I have left my PSU unplugged and BIOS battery out while I'm at work today, and have updated to the latest Aida64 Beta last night.

Hopefully it will be successful, as apart from this issue, the Motherboard has been very good.

I had been problem free until today, at almost 1500 on the dot today the AIO and 2 fans died. They just went to 0 in AIDA64. Temps started rising fast and if I hadn't had AIDA64 setup to shutdown at 80C i dont know if it would have - other forums are talking about the SenseMISkew defaults causing the board to not recognize thermal max and shutdown...

The only changes I had made were selecting "SMBus access through ACPI (Asus Motherboards)" in the stability section of AIDA64 when going in there to enable DIMM thermal sensor support. That setting may be old, and it may have interfered with the recent beta changes that were supposed to fix this issue.

I disabled both since the failure and rebooted / reset the battery - will update if I have any further issues or if that seems like it broke the AIO/Fan controls again.

I have moved my fans off to a Fan controller so i can control them better, and had my pump on the AIO Header.

I did the reset on the bios and left the PC unpluged and without the BIOS battery yesterday all day, and tonight the AIO header shut off and my pump stopped again.

I was in the Oculus Rift and only noticed when the PC crashed. I have Aida running on my Tablet so It froze when the PC crashed and i can see that the AIO header was reporting 0 rpm when it crashed and the GPU was 82 degrees C, so it definitely wasn't pumping, as my fans were still running off the fan controller.

Gotta say, I'm over it. I will run the pump and all my fans off the Fan Controller at least until this is confirm,ed as fixed. Its not worth risking damage to my hardware from these failures.

I Have been experiencing the same problem. I'm gonna take my fans and put them on a controller as well untill @ASUS get there fan and sensor problems resolved.

Okay I can confirm I'm still having issues with random fans and sensors just dying at random times. This is a huge problem, do I need to RMA this board or is this going to get fixed?? *This just can't happen, the CPU cooling can NOT keep failing this is a fatal flaw that will destroy a $500 CPU!

Hi everyone. Same problem here. (My components are in profile)
Randomly the pump and fans stop working. I plug the clc in all headers, W_Pump, AIO, W_Flow and in all of them, do the same.
Using or not the EVGA flow control, it's the same. Just one difference, in W_Pump header, Windows give me a notification "W_Pump Stop working".

The bios version of my MB is 1002 i never update it, and i checked temps and info with AIDA64.

I read the complete topic searching for solution and for now, i want to share my result.

Plug the CLC in AIO header.
Completely off QFan controller in Bios.
In Balanced Ryzen Plan deactivated the USB power off. USB always are on.
No AIDA64, any version. Completly uninstalled.

I don't say this is a permanent solution for everyone, but works for me at least in the last 2 weeks, no more sudden blackouts in pump or fans (for now and i hope ever)
The only "problem" now, is there's no AIDA, (just Flow Control and Ryzen Master) so, there's no Alerts/Alarms and auto shut down if fails, so... eye checking only.

Is very sad have this kind of issues in a MB like this.. if it were cheap, well.. all we know, but it doesn't! and buy quality and even so to be on the edge to fry the processor many times is very very frustrating.

I hope can help someone.

Cheers!

You definitely need to update your BIOS! I have AIDA64 installed and that issue isn't come back for me. However, double flashing (flash the same BIOS twice in a row without setting anything) a later BIOS should be where you start followed up by a power cord removed for at least two minutes while clearing the CMOS. If you are going to use AIDA64, use the latest version. I have always ran the high performance power profile in Windows and always disable USB suspending as well as completely disable Q-Fan.

Thanks for the answer!
I'll try following those steps in a couple of days. I'll post the results here.

Thank you again!

Best of luck! It seems very hit and miss what works for some. As soon as I reset the CMOS, I disabled Q-Fan. When it comes to clearing the CMOS, use the jumper or pull the battery while your PC is unplugged from the wall. Keep it unplugged for a couple of minutes and make sure the jumper is in place for at least 30 seconds or the battery is out for at least 30 seconds. I have never used the AI suite but I do have the latest version of AIDA64 installed with no issues.
