Adding m.2

Hi, I’ve recently purchased a Samsung 980 pro PCIE 4.0 NVME M.2 SSD for my B450-f gaming motherboard, i that gen 4 doesn’t work on the motherboard but apparently it will just drop down to gen 3 speeds which is fine.

I’ve installed the m.2 into the m.2_2 (lower slot on the motherboard) slot as I also have a hdd and I know if I use the upper one that uses the same lane as the sata for the hdd,

the m.2 doesn’t show in the bios or on windows, the only section it shows in the bios is from the boot which I don’t need to boot from it, I also installed Samsung magician software and that picks it up and shows it.

any ideas on how to get it working?

I found a work around and the m.2 seems to be working, I went into device manager and it was showing up, I also followed this guide from toms hardware.

someone was having a similar issue and they got it working too.
