Ryujin iii 240 ARGB screen glitching on gif files other than factory installed gifs.

PLEASE HELP!!!

I just installed the Ryujin iii 240 ARGB and after a week, its starting to have issues with downloaded gif files. I have changed the size of the gifs to accommodate the restrictions. It does not matter which gif I upload, it will always have a screen glitch. It's like white noise that appears sequentially but in random spots on the screen for different gifs. The pre-loaded gifs work fine, so it doesn't seem to be an issue with armoury Crate. I have uninstalled and reinstalled Armoury Crate several times, but I still have issues with gifs.

Hi @woodyhall1969 ,

Thank you for providing a detailed description of the ROG Ryujin III 240 ARGB issue where the custom GIF display shows “white flickering dots” or visual noise.
We understand how this may affect your experience, and we truly appreciate that you have already reinstalled Armoury Crate and verified that the GIF file size meets the upload requirements.

To help us identify and resolve the issue, please confirm the following steps:

  1. Re-export your GIF file and verify that its resolution, frame rate, and file size comply with the Armoury Crate specifications. Please also share the file details with us.
  2. Ensure that both your Armoury Crate module and Ryujin III firmware are updated to the latest versions.
  3. If the issue persists after updating, please go to
Device → Ryujin III → LCD Settings in Armoury Crate,
and switch to a default animation (e.g., ROG Logo or Fan Speed display) to check whether the flickering occurs only with custom GIFs.
  4. Confirm that the cooler’s USB cable is connected directly to the motherboard’s USB 2.0 header, not through a hub or extension cable.

If the issue still occurs, please provide the following information for our engineering team’s analysis:

  • Product serial number (S/N) (via PM box)
  • Firmware version and Armoury Crate module version
  • GIF file details (resolution, file size, frame rate)
  • Short video or photo showing the display noise (Google Drive or Imgur link is fine)
  • Armoury Crate log file (please refer to FAQ: APP Diagnostics)

We appreciate your cooperation and patience. Once we receive the requested information, we’ll escalate it to our engineering team and keep you updated with the progress.
