Hi guys when playing warzone on my i914900k & 4090 it tends to go Upto 75c is this anything to worry about when checking hwinfo it doesn’t say any packages/cores are throttling but does say it’s hit 75-85c on max temp is this anything to worry about. Thanks

Hello Stittyuk

What cpu cooler are you using and are you using the stock thermal paste? Thermal Grizzly Kryonaut is one of the top performing thermal pastes.

There are variables that come into play like your room temperature and case airflow that can affect cpu temperature.

75c-85c is considered ok by Intel, but if you're running stock, temps could be a little better.

Hi buddy thanks for the reply I’m using thermal grizzly kryonaut and a deep cool lt720 360mm aio

Sorry for a late reply.

If you're running at stock settings, most of the time the motherboard will overvolt the cpu to compensate for weaker cpu's.

Are you using a monitoring program?

I use HWinfo, what to check is the maximum column. In most instances, you should be able to manually set a lower cpu voltage or use a negative offset which will lower temps.

With HWinfo open, play a game for a few minutes then check to see what the maximum voltage is.

Click the pic to make it bigger.

Yes I’m running hw info il take some pics for you today buddy and upload them. I also run Msi afterburner in game and on afterburner it normaly ranges between 65-75 max

Thank you for the screenshot of HWinfo.

That doesn't look too bad, I do see the maximum Vcore is 1.41v.

In the bios on the AI Tweaker page, try manually setting the cpu core voltage to 1.35v. Then play a game, check what the maximum voltage is going to and if temps are any lower.

Cheers for the help mate I will give that a try and report back. Will I have to do a stability test buddy once I change it?

Most people do run a stability test, but I tend to just use my games as the stability test. If I'm not having any freezing or BSOD's I call it good.

If you're stable at 1.35v, you may be able to get the voltage even lower.

Set the Actual VRM Core Voltage to Manual, the CPU Core Voltage Override option will appear, enter in 1.35v, then Hit F10 and Enter to save and exit.

Tried 1.35 and it Bsod on opening a game @Silent_Scone would you not worry about my temps then?
