Armoury Crate - Fan Xpert 4 is causing the FAN to act strangely (ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB)

Please help me. When I executed auto tuning of CPU fan with Fan Xpert 4, the 120x3 fan (ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB) controllable range became chaotic as shown in the attached image, and the fan is now running at maximum speed all the time.

Is anyone else experiencing the same issue? Is there any solution?

Hi @rya_dokie ,

Thank you for providing us with the detailed information. In order to better understand the issue you're experiencing with the automatic CPU fan adjustment in Fan Xpert 4, we kindly request that you provide us with the Armoury Crate logs for further analysis.

Before providing the logs, please ensure the following:

  1. Software Version: Please make sure you have completely uninstalled and reinstalled Armoury Crate using the official Uninstall tool, and that your ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB version is up-to-date.
  2. Log Recording: Please ensure that you reproduce the issue while log recording is enabled (start logging > use ROG Ryujin III 360 ARGB > enable Fan Xpert 4 > perform automatic CPU fan adjustment > stop logging). This will help us pinpoint the exact issue.

How to collect Armoury Crate logs:

Please refer to Q5: What is APP Diagnostics? (New Feature) in the following link: https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1043747/#a14

Once you have completed the above steps, please upload the collected log files to a cloud storage service (such as Google Drive, Dropbox, etc.) and send us the sharing link via private message.

Additionally, please provide us with your product serial number.

Thank you again for your cooperation!

Providing detailed device specifications (MB/CPU/GPU/PSU, etc.) and the respective driver versions, OS version, and BIOS version will help us analyze the issue more effectively.

Hi @Aureliannn_ROG ,

Thank you for replying. I have been exploring solutions for the past weeks. I have discovered the following:
(i) The 120x3 fan gets stuck at 100% when controlled in PWM mode.
(ii) Switching from PWM mode to DC mode allows for proper control.
(iii) Occasionally, the fan control works fine even in PWM mode (but eventually, the fan starts being controlled at 100%)
I suspected that the issue might be with the motherboard (X670e CROSSHAIR HERO) rather than the FAN Xpert software, so I updated the BIOS and cleared the CMOS, the 120x3 fan is now running stably in PWM mode. I plan to keep an eye on things for a while.
